Our Story

Mark Stasny was born and raised in Bryan-College Station and never left. He has spent his career building things here, with more than 30 years in construction under his belt. Give him a set of blueprints and a reason to build something people will actually use, and he's happy.

Shellie arrived in 1999 to finish a Master's in Education, planning on a few years in town. She met Mark on a blind date, and after dating for a year and a half, they married. Nearly three decades later, Bryan-College Station is home. She spent 15 years pouring into the community with her survival swimming business, and in late 2024 she found a new way to do it: pickleball. It scratched an itch she didn't know she had, feeding her competitive streak while pulling her into one of the warmest, most welcoming communities she'd ever been part of.

The two of them started talking about what a pickleball facility could look like here, a place that took the sport seriously without taking itself too seriously. Somewhere with real courts and real competition, but also real food, real drinks, and room for people who just wanted to be around the energy.

That conversation turned into Pickleball Junction: 55,000+ square feet, 18 courts, a full restaurant, and two bars, the first facility of its kind in Bryan-College Station. Mark handled the build, drawing on two decades of construction experience to bring the vision to life. Shellie shaped the culture, making sure the place felt like exactly what pulled her into the sport in the first place: competitive, but never exclusive.

Their sons are part of the business too, making Pickleball Junction a family effort from the ground up, literally and otherwise.
