Member & Player Code of Conduct
Last Updated: August 05, 2026
Welcome to Pickleball Junction. This Code of Conduct applies to all members, players, guests, and spectators at our facility, located on Wildflower Drive in Bryan, Texas. It is built on the sportsmanship principles and Official Rules of USA Pickleball, and on the standards of safety and respect we expect at our courts. All players must read, agree to, and sign this Code of Conduct before their first visit.
1. Sportsmanship & Respect
- Treat all players, staff, coaches, and spectators with courtesy and respect, on and off the court.
- Introduce yourself to players you don't know and welcome newcomers and guests.
- Never use foul language, obscene gestures, or engage in taunting, bullying, or harassment of any kind, including based on race, gender, age, skill level, or ability.
- Do not denigrate, criticize, or give unsolicited coaching to another player.
- Win and lose graciously. At the end of each game, acknowledge your opponents at the net in a positive manner.
- Give opponents the benefit of the doubt on line calls, and call your own faults (foot faults, double bounces, kitchen violations) promptly and honestly.
2. Rules of Play
All play at Pickleball Junction follows the Official USA Pickleball Rulebook, including the two-bounce rule, non-volley zone (kitchen) rules, service rules, and scoring. The Official Rules of Pickleball take precedence over this Code in any situation not addressed here.
- Know and apply the Official Rules fairly; cooperate in good faith on anything the rules do not expressly cover.
- Follow posted court signage and any paddle rotation or “paddle master” system in effect during open play.
- Reserve, check in for, and vacate courts according to posted facility scheduling policies.
- Avoid distracting behavior during a live rally, such as loud noises, stomping, or waving a paddle to distract an opponent.
3. Safety
- Warm up and stretch before play; stay hydrated and take breaks as needed.
- If you are injured, feeling unwell, or notice another player is, stop play and notify facility staff immediately.
- Wear appropriate non-marking court shoes and eye protection is recommended for all players.
- Immediately call out “ball” and pause play if a ball rolls onto an adjoining court.
- Report any facility hazard (wet floors, damaged nets or surfaces, equipment issues) to staff right away.
- Follow all posted emergency procedures and staff instructions during any emergency.
4. Facility & Property
- Respect Pickleball Junction facilities and equipment; keep courts, common areas, and locker rooms clean and orderly.
- No outside food, glass containers, or alcohol on the courts. Water and approved sports drinks are permitted courtside.
- Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to staff instead of attempting repairs yourself.
- Members are responsible for any guests they bring, including ensuring guests follow this Code of Conduct.
5. Zero-Tolerance Policy
Pickleball Junction is committed to a friendly, safe, and inclusive environment for players of every age and skill level. Harassment, discrimination, threats, physical altercations, or repeated flagrant violations of this Code will not be tolerated.
- Report any harassment or unsafe behavior to facility staff or management immediately.
- Behavior violations may result in a verbal warning, temporary suspension of court privileges, or permanent removal from the facility, at management's discretion, consistent with USA Pickleball's approach to flagrant conduct violations and ejections.
6. Acknowledgment & Signature
By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agree to follow the Pickleball Junction Code of Conduct and the Official Rules of USA Pickleball while at this facility. I understand that violation of this Code may result in suspension or loss of my playing privileges.
